Summary: The Physician Scheduling Coordinator position will be responsible for the scheduling related functions, including but not limited to the 24/7/365 physician onsite and remote staffing scheduling, Add pay shifts, Flex Days, Vacation, payroll transfers, and analyzing physician statistics to ensure equitability. This position interacts constantly with many of the physicians, payroll, and credentialing departments and many other associated stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

  • Efficiently and effectively enters and builds schedules for physicians and advanced practitioners within the RANT scheduling application(s).
  • Facilitates approving and tracking requests for vacation time and additional earned time off.
  • Coordinate physician swaps and payroll transfers.
  • Accommodates provider scheduling preferences based on scheduling processes, when possible.
  • Updates reports as needed and requested by Physician Scheduling Lead, Payroll Department, and Physician Scheduling Manager.
  • Responsible for entering, tracking, updating and scheduling physician add-pay shifts.
  • Complete scheduling requirements while minimizing unnecessary additional compensation.
  • Stays informed about the credentialing status of each physician, using that knowledge to appropriately staff at each facility.
  • Provides information to new physicians about the physician scheduling process as needed.
  • Develops strong relationships with physicians.
  • Distributes the physician schedule to internal and external stakeholders, as requested.
  • Work closely with HR/Payroll/Credentialing when new physicians are added, and physicians are terminated.
  • Knowledge and proficient ability with Physician Scheduling software.
  • Ability to complete routinely assigned work based on productivity standards with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

Education: High School or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience: Prior experience in medical environment required with min of 1 year scheduling experience

Skills/Knowledge: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage competing priorities
